Small Black –

A duo hailing from the land of charming musicians (Brooklyn) comes Small Black. They have already been featured on pitchfork.com for their track “Despicable dogs,” with their sweet, almost desperate sounding vocals, haunting decidedly lo-fi instrumentals and just enough synth they compliment any dreamy bedroom session you may have in mind. Nite Jewel-

Listen up Glass Candy fans; in lieu of their recent show here, I thought I would introduce you to Nite Jewel, a loungey, minimalist female fronted electronic project from Los Angeles. Quite possibly one of the best bands I’ve had the pleasure of coming across this year, London’s Trailer Trash Tracys make the kind of music that sticks to you and keep you melting all day. The Bitters –

I’m a sucker for girls and boys singing together. Especially when they are singing loud, throwback cave pop, like Canada’s The Bitters do.  Never short of, “oooh oooohs” and “whoa whoas” pick up Wooden Glove at www.myspace.com/bittersband and don’t be shy about popping your headphones on and walking to work while singing along.
