Velvet Sea O’ Phunk: Post-Phish Party

phish-hampPractice your barefoot spinning and that sparkly permagrin.  Phish has decided to bring its traveling street fair to MIA to spin and twirl our attention toward their eclectic throngs of die-hard jamsters.  These guys are still packing arenas and getting people to follow them around the country to experience their musical light show.  Set to play a four gig run from December 28-NYE, there are sure to be packs of wandering Phishheads looking for the next gathering.  Luckily, they won’t have to twirl very far.

The Vagabond is playing host to a post-Phish celebration hosted by EQ Producktions and DEF OWL featuring Orchard Lounge, a space disco, funky electro-collective that will keep the party going until you just can’t dance no mo’.  This Chicago-based collective was assembled a little less than a decade ago by some seriously talented musicians who now focus on being serious DJs.  Spencer Lokken:  a classically-trained violinist.  Ben Silver:  long-time guitar aficionado, writer, producer.  Bethany Lokken:  former rocker of the clarinet.  Visuals will be provided by VJ Psyberpixie and any residual psilocybin.

Now, with forces joined, they aim to bring together artists that they admire while keeping their DJ sets sophisticated and accessible to anyone who loves to feel music and move move move.
