Little Louie’ Vega’s “Dance Ritual”

“If you have yet to experience ‘Little Louie’ Vega’s “Dance Ritual” residency, its due time you put an end to your deprivation. Vega’s five-hour sets of bumpy house beats, Latin-infused tribal rhythms, and Garage favorites engender such a fervor on the dance floor that one can only conclude that Louie Vega is an evangelist with a rotary mixer in place of a pulpit.

As half of the production duo Masters at Work, Vega has remixed everyone from Madonna and Donna Summers to Jamiroquai. Aside from his remixes, his original productions have played a large part in infusing house music with heavy doses of soul. He is notorious for his habit of using live session musicians in place of machines when producing his tracks. This meticulousness goes into his DJ sets, an experience you must see to believe.”
