413 STRENGTHGEAR:::

 413 is a t-shirt line offering some basic decorative prints. Their signature look this season appeared to be the hanging chain printer on the shirt. And being a good girl type of a company, they had a fashion forward key item: peacock feather graphic flowing in a white v-neck T.

MAUI:::

Maui has a peculiar geometrical logo; it’s round, it’s big and it has some odd colored shapes dropped in the middle. It looks like a cookie! Well, those shapes are a triangle, a circle, a square, and a rectangle, and, for your amusement, those are the symbols of the four elements of nature: earth, water, sky and fire.  (Heart! To finish the needed Captain Planet refference)

Maui’s clothing collection ultimate goal is to be “an extension of a lifestyle.” A philosophy that was written when the founders of Maui first gathered back in 1980 and has henceforth taken the brand to be a successful part of the surfing culture. Their shapes, colors and graphics transcend the relaxed mentality and positivism of the surfer archetype.

Going back to the cookie logo, here’s the story: there were once three surfer dudes baking cookies, try to make a business out of it. When they realized the only thing that was coming out of the oven were ashes, they took a look at themselves and decided to create a business that spoke the same language of their lifestyle and passions. Then a clothing line was birthed; one that dedicates its life to nature and surfing. That is how the cookie crumbles!

O’QUINN CLOTHING:::

 O’quinn is merely an infant in the fashion industry, but that only pertains to the amount of time they have in the industry. With as little as two years in the fashion scene, their sense for style and quality gives them great status, excellence and recognition. They have pushed for excellence through their use of high quality fabrics and cut-and-sew techniques.

They direct their men and women lines to the street, skate, and surf culture. However, they managed to be distinctive among the other surf and skate clothing brands because of their mass appeal. They are the high rollers; they are smooth criminals in boutique fashion.

O’Quinn can be found in Nordstrom, Fred Segal and surf and skate stores.

SKATERA:::

 When the word “skater” is mentioned, one first assumes said speaker is referring to a guy. But there are girls as passionate as boys that can ride freestyle or downhill as good as any guy on a board. It all just comes down to one emotion: passion.

Skatera is clothing line designed for skater girls. They are more about practicality than fashion, but it still looks good; they are not about trends but are trendsetters. Skatera is about the skating, the lifestyle, and the street culture. The designer, Pamela Zoolalian, and founder, Chris Chaput, live by this skate-culture philosophy; they are champions of the sport and true riders who have joined forces to provide the passionate individual a clothing option that will suit their skating needs.

Their clothes are seam reinforced, their denim has added spandex for comfort, their prints have a splash of punk, and all designs are thought out to be suitable to skate with.

Take a look at their jeans and you will see that when Skatera is tagged as being a true rider-passionate brand. There was no exaggeration in the previous statement.

SYNERGY:::

 Being that less is more, Synergy, a clothing line handmade in Nepal and India is the perfect example of such a phrase. Simple shapes that suit the body and caresses the skin. Garments that elicit one simple thing: comfort. Synergy also has a sister clothing line Synergy Organic made of organic cotton, dyed with low impact dyes and made to fit the Fair Trade Practices.

TEN-80:::

 Some brands are for skating, some for surfing, some both; Ten-80 is about wakeboarding. 100 percent wake! They offer clothing to ride, play and live for the sport.

For both men and women, they provide a selection of clothing filled up with energy that shines through the color selection, styles and graphics. They were also the ones to introduce the walking-trunk, a mix between a surf short and a walking short that is comfortable enough to be in and out of the water with. They key component of this invention is in their materials. (I won’t give you their secret, go find out for yourself, visit Ten-80)

T-VIK:::

 Cutting edge, vanguard shapes and mesh! Ooh! It’s fun got-to-try swimwear. Swimwear that might as well be worn as clothing. Their designs belong in a contemporary museum! Thank Poseidon, that the T-Vik collection is accessible, wearable and suitable to jump and play in the water with.
