A minimalistic and simple watch by Nordgreen

The minimalist design weakens us so naturally that we rarely give it an extra thought. What does the style really define? The style has characterized the Danish homes for many years and is still hugely popular. In Scandinavia, they are known for a minimalist style, which has undergone a major development since the flow emerged in the 1960s. In fact, they have not only embraced minimalism in the décor. We also encounter this style in the technology and the fashion industry. For example, are our phones very technical but at the same time, they also have an elegant and simple design - the same goes for our furniture, which must be functional and simple at the same time. Minimalism, of course, has specific characteristics, but it also enables you to adapt to the trends of the day and can easily be combined with your own personal style. Everyone from big to the small business makes use of fashion trend. Apple's iPhone is a good example of a simplistic design. Also smaller design manufacturers such as Nordgreen and Koizumi make use of this expression.



Sometimes… it’s the beginning of an unknown adventureSometimes it’s also what Tokidoki means in Japanese. According to designer and creative director Simone Legno “everyone waits for moments that change one’s destiny, by chance or by meeting a new person (…) [sometimes] something magical will happen to us.”

In 2003 something magical happened to us indeed. It was the creation of Tokidoki, a Japanese inspired brand based in LA dipping everything it touches into color, cute figurines and digitalized contemporary Japanese gals. A universe of characters and a mixture of feelings and emotions represented by the pop art stencils of Italian artist, Simone Legno.

Its mixture of cute monsters, Japanese inspired characters and graphic expressions remind you to enjoy life, see the glass half full, and always express yourself. It has a dash of London fashion sass, and the spirit of a Cali girl. Like their motto “Is not just a t-shirt is a way of life”, their designers, staff and team members live their life every day representing what a true New Breed Girl feels like.

Our featured NBG designer and long Wasabi friend is Delia Hodson; a UK lady that has batteries for life and won’t let anything stop her from making her NBG line gain entry into every girl’s heart and closet.



On a winter night in Miami below the 60°, or during a breezy summer if you happen to live up north, the city is the main attraction of the world. A perfect climate where the leather jackets got out of the closet and the mini skirts stayed on. It was the beginning of December and the opening of Art Basel, Miami Beach.

To honor this celebration, Nikki Beach hosted a fashion show inviting We Love Colors, Only One and Ombu Shoes to show their collection. The three brands infused themselves under the direction of Wasabi Fashion KultWe Love Colors, a Miami based company, offering more than 50 colors in legwear and nylon dance accessories brought the colors, the spirit and the fun. Only One introduced its signature t-shirt with an abstract graphic print, shirt which percentage of sales will be donated to The World’s Kitchen foundation. And Ombu Shoes, (a Miami based company as well) dressed the feet with its basic slip-on shoes made with recycled leather sporting beach tones and patterned prints.

WFK combined the spirited brands under Kanpai, (celebration in Japanese) to celebrate life. Color warrior princesses overruled the runway with cut-off shirts (works of Gabriel Gaviria and a pair of scissors), striped stockings, metallic shoes and dramatic dread-do-s by Nue Studio. Clubbing-like or music festival-like outfits invited the crowd to dance, enjoy the music and shred the black off just for once.

The leather jacket can stay, but the colors must be worn in your heart. And that’s for any type of climate.
