Every year, the winter hit us for surprise. We were all expecting it at some point, wanted to bring out the fuzzy animal hoods, or the scarves or the coats. Like a bad lover it teased us for months, and now that’s here some decided to face it, some to avoid it, and others to welcome it with their most precious cashmere and leather clothes. See below a couple of pictures taken during this tropical winter. A very eclectic mixture of people and moods, each one of them with their own take on the cold weather. Whatever it is, nobody can tell them they are wrong, we are all free to dress or undress however we feel, and we applaud you for it. –Pictures taken during the MIA Art Fair and Wynwood Art Walk. 

The only thing we celebrate, is your individuality. Best people watching, walking-art time, and chaotic hair dos during Art Basel. We couldn’t ask for better.

Because just one city and one language is not enough Wasabi Fashion Kult is going international.  With this post, we will introduce the Argentinean uderground art scene. Metronomy performed las Tuesday at Niceto, one of the hottest venues for a live music session if you are in Argentina.

Metronomy, one of the most talented bands of the new underground generation, played in Buenos Aires for the very first time. During their show, the British four piece, leaded by singer and composer Joseph Mount, played most of the songs from their latest album “The English Riviera” and some tunes from their previous production, “Nights out.”

The most intense moments of the night were marked by the chords of Heartbreaker, The Look, and The Bay, all songs included in “The English Riviera”, and album inspired in the sounds of  Joseph Mount’s home town Devon. “I just fantasized that this area was a cutting edge place of music and youth culture, which it isn’t at all,” explained Joseph. “Imagining that this part of England creates a specific kind of music – the ‘Devon Sound’ – similar to West Coast studio music of the 1970s.”

Porque sólo una ciudad y un idioma no son suficientes, Wasabi Fashion Kult se vuelve internacional. Con este artículo te presentamos una de las caras de la escena artística underground de Argentina.

El martes por la noche las cámaras de WFK salieron a divertirse durante el show de Metronomy en Niceto, uno de los lugares más populares para los amantes de la música en vivo en Argentina.

Metronomy, una de las bandas más talentosas de la nueva generación de músicos underground, se presentó en Buenos Aires por primera vez. Durante el show, el grupo liderado por el cantante y compositor Joseph Mount, tocó la mayoría de las canciones de su último álbum, “The English Riviera”, y algunos temas de su producción anterior, “Nights out”.

Los momentos más intensos de la noche estuvieron marcados por los acordes de Heartbreaker, The Look y The Bay, todos temas incluidos en “The English Riviera”, un disco inspirado en los sonidos de la ciudad natal de Joseph Mount, Devon. “Fantaseé acerca de que ese área era un lugar vanguardista para la música y la cultura joven, el cuál no lo es en absoluto”, explicó Joseph. “Imaginando que esa parte de Inglaterra creaba un tipo específico de música –el “Sonido de Devon”- similar a la música de estudio de la Costa Oeste de los 70’s”.

And while some are stuck with the every weekend club, the same drink and expected DJ, somewhere near Wynwood some others where experiencing a Miami painted with another stroke, the one of our underground culture. 7th Circuit Studio, is a warehouse located in Little Haiti, home to the Moshka family, who for this occasion teamed up with Telekinetic Walrus to bring us: ConFUNKTION 3.0.5, the release party  of a collaborative album by Y Diz, Telekinetic, Cornerstoners, Afrobeta, organicArma, Buffalo Brown, and Jason Fitzroy.

This was not just a party, it was a festival. People came down to experience music, to dance, to support their local artists. The stage was hot with talent, the dance floor always crowded, and the spirit of people was high in energy and excitement. The back yard looked more like a portion of Burning Man, gipsies and performer artists hanging around, buses gutted out like a living rooms, street vendors, dub step an us united in spirit.

Last Friday you needed a kilt! The very talented Calvin Harris flew from Scotland to Miami Beach and chose the well known club Set to perform. The event sold out one week before and at 11pm the club was already packed of people waiting to see and enjoy the sounds of the British sensation. When Mr. Harris arrived on stage around 1am things got out of control as “Boys and girls” loose themselves to the rhythm of “Flashback,” and “Stars come out,” later on Calvin set the club on fire with a dubstep mix of his incredible “I’m not alone”.

I’m sorry if you missed this spectacle, it was the place to be last Friday night. Miami was dancing and sweating to the midnight light rays of Calvin Harris.
